Michael Jackson Jackets, Oasis Guitars, and More Head to Auction in $2.6 Million Sale

A collection of iconic music memorabilia, including items from Michael Jackson, Noel Gallagher, and Jimi Hendrix, is set to hit the auction block next month. The sale, hosted by Propstore on November 15, is expected to bring in around £2 million ($2.61 million) and will span four days, also featuring film and TV props.

Music lovers will have the chance to bid on more than 350 items, including some of Michael Jackson’s most memorable jackets. One of the highlights is a black and gold military-style jacket with an estimated price of £200,000–£400,000 ($261,000–$522,000). Jackson’s signed red Thriller tour rehearsal jacket, featuring autographs from Thriller director John Landis and costume designer Deborah Landis, will also be up for grabs.

“At the end of the day, it’s a Thriller jacket that Michael actually wore,” said Propstore’s music specialist Mark Hochman in an interview with Reuters.

Fans of rock legend Jimi Hendrix can bid on a master tape containing four unreleased demo recordings. The tape, which features titles handwritten by Hendrix himself, is one of the most exclusive items in the auction.

Oasis enthusiasts are in for a treat as well, with 15 guitars from Noel Gallagher’s personal collection heading to auction, including his first guitar from his time with the band—a cream Hohner JT60 estimated to fetch £25,000–£50,000. “Oasis guitars do come up for auction… primarily Noel’s, and they’re hugely sought after by collectors,” Hochman added. Interest in the guitars has only intensified with rumors of an Oasis reunion.

Other notable items include John Lennon’s 1962 Fawn JMI Vox AC15 Twin amplifier (£100,000–£200,000) and a synthesizer used by Prince during the recording of Purple Rain (£50,000–£100,000).

With so many rare and iconic pieces from music history, this auction promises to be a must-see event for collectors and fans alike.
