Marvel Unveils Time-Traveling Next Chapter for ‘Fantastic Four’

Marvel is gearing up for an exciting new chapter for its legendary team, the Fantastic Four, with a thrilling time-travel adventure set to launch in July 2025. Writer Ryan North and artist Humberto Ramos are taking Marvel’s first family on an epic journey through time in Fantastic Four No. 1, where they battle their most formidable foe, Doctor Doom, and are sent to different eras in Earth’s history.

The new storyline is part of Marvel’s ongoing One World Under Doom event, in which Doctor Doom has seized control of Earth. As part of the action-packed narrative, the Fantastic Four must locate a mysterious object called the Forever Stone—a mass of granite that exists across all time periods. This rock holds the key to undoing Doom’s grip on the planet. And in true Marvel fashion, Ben Grimm (The Thing) will face off against a dinosaur during their time-traveling exploits!

North, a long-time writer for the Fantastic Four, who is known for his work on Dinosaur Comics, says this new chapter is not only about the exciting science fiction elements of time travel and dinosaurs but also deeply rooted in the emotional bonds of the family. “People often think of the FF in terms of family, and they’re not wrong, but I think there’s something really beautiful about friendship too, and we get to see that with these characters. It’s high-concept science fiction with real emotion. What’s not to like?”

Artist Humberto Ramos shares the weight of illustrating such iconic characters, noting, “The weight of history and legacy of these characters lay upon your shoulders, no matter who you are or how you’ve worked in this industry.”

This launch follows Fantastic Four No. 33, set for release in June, which will conclude North’s current run on the series. North also hints at what’s to come: “This book comes in the middle of our One World Under Doom event, so you can be certain that Doom plays a role in those first few issues. After that, we’ve got science mysteries, monsters, and trips into space.”

With a rich blend of action, time travel, and heartfelt moments, this new chapter promises to be a must-read for Marvel fans as they journey with the Fantastic Four to save Earth and explore the emotional connections that define Marvel’s first family.
