Martial Law in South Korea

Yoon Suk Yeol, the President of the Republic of South Korea, has declared martial law in the country on an emergency basis. In a televised address to the nation today, Tuesday, he announced that the measure was taken to protect the country from “communist forces.”

In his speech, Yoon Suk Yeol stated, “To safeguard liberal South Korea from the threats posed by North Korea’s communist forces and to eliminate anti-state elements, I am declaring martial law on an urgent basis.”
