Margot Robbie’s Movie Release Delayed to September

Margot Robbie’s upcoming romantic fantasy film, A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, has been pushed back from its original release date of May 9 to September 19. The delay was confirmed by Sony Pictures, with sources close to the production revealing that the change was made to ensure the film stands out in a September lineup, which is expected to feature more horror and male-centered titles.

The movie, which also stars Colin Farrell, Lily Rabe, Jodie Turner-Smith, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Hamish Linklater, is described as an “imaginative tale of two strangers and the extraordinary emotional journey that connects them.”

Directed by Kogonada, who is known for his work on Pachinko and After Yang, the film is written by Seth Reiss, the screenwriter behind The Menu. It is being financed by 30West, with Sony Pictures releasing it globally.

The movie has generated excitement following its acquisition by Sony Pictures in February 2024 after a bidding war at the European Film Market in Berlin. Tom Rothman, Sony Pictures’ motion picture group chairman, described the film as “a project from heaven.”

Fans will now have to wait a little longer to see A Big Bold Beautiful Journey on the big screen when it releases on September 19.
