Man City Coach Burns Old Regret after Losing Points

Manchester City could not win against Brentford despite leading 2-0 until the 81st minute

After losing the points at the door of victory, the old disappointment peeked again in Pep Guardiola’s mind. According to the Manchester City coach, the team is in this situation due to not getting some of the best favorite footballers due to injury. In particular, he feels a big void on defense.

Manchester City had to pay for not being able to defend at the last minute in the Brentford field. Phil Foden scored two goals in the 66th and 78th minutes of the English Premier League match on Tuesday. Brentford returned a goal in the 82nd minute. At the end of the 90th minute, they took a point out of City’s fist in the second minute of added time.

City have suffered heavily this season due to the injury of several footballers. Guardiola has regretted this many times. Some of them have recovered and returned to the field. However, in the defense, Ruben Dias, John Stones, midfielder Rodri is still out of the field.

After losing points in this match, the Manchester City coach blamed the lack of injured footballers.

“We have to play with a different type of footballer now… In the end, we couldn’t handle the situation. They put six or seven footballers in the box, sometimes the cross came flying. Sometimes they were better than us. They are also taller, stronger than us (in heading). ”

City could not score for a long time from the beginning of the match before losing the point by digesting the goal in the last time. They missed several opportunities. Foden then scored twice. However, Guardiola is not satisfied with the performance of the attack. He also gave credit to his opponent.

“We lacked a lot of things today, especially in attack we didn’t make the right decisions. There are other places, when we could run, win long balls and move quickly, we didn’t make the right decisions in those moments. ”

“I give credit to my opponent as well. Brentford is always a tough, really tough opponent. They are a team that is honest with themselves. I like their style of play. But we had our chance today. ”

After this draw, Manchester City is sixth in the points table with 35 points in 21 matches, Brentford is in ten with 21 points. Liverpool is at the top with 47 points in 20 matches.
