The U.S. state of Los Angeles is battling a massive wildfire. Initially, the fire broke out over a 20-acre area, but within hours, it spread to 1,200 acres. To prevent casualties, residents in the surrounding areas have been advised to evacuate to safer locations.
The wildfire started around 10:30 a.m. local time. Due to winds blowing at a speed of 80-100 kilometers per hour and the dry weather conditions, it quickly spread to nearby areas.
The surroundings are engulfed in thick smoke. There are concerns that the wildfire might spread to the state of California as well.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Jim McDonnell stated that the fire could become even more severe at night. In this situation, rescue teams have been instructed to clear roads by removing vehicles to ensure quick access to the affected areas.
