Liverpool in a Strong Position in The Half Century, Barca is Further Behind

After the half-season, the second phase of European football has accumulated. Since the beginning of the new year, teams have their eyes on the title. Liverpool is gradually slipping out of reach in England’s top tier league. In addition to their own performance, other teams are also helping Liverpool in this regard. Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are fighting for the top spot in La Liga. Barcelona is falling behind in the fight between the two clubs of Madrid. The battle is going on in the Italian league Serie A. Atalanta dropped from the top spot to third. But Napoli, who is on top of everyone, is not relieved. Inter Milan is breathing down its neck. And in the Bundesliga, the fight is as usual between Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen.

Liverpool is increasing the distance with the rest. Liverpool is making great strides in the English Premier League. Behind this, however, the responsibility of others is more than their own achievements. Otherwise, Liverpool has drawn points in two of the last three matches. Mohamed Salah’s nearest rivals Arsenal are also regularly dropping points. The second-placed Gunners drew with Aston Villa in their last match.

Arsenal are 6 points behind by playing one match more than Liverpool who are currently at the top. Liverpool has 50 points in 21 matches, and Arsenal is second with 44 points in 22 matches. Nottingham, third in the list, however, is showing great skill. They also have 44 points equal to Arsenal, but the reason behind is goal difference. The current champion Manchester City has risen to fourth in the points table due to the positive performance of the last few matches. However, their distance with Liverpool at the top is 12 points.

Real-Atletico fight, falling behind Barca La Liga title fight is now between Real and Atletico. However, in their last match against Leganes, Real got a lot of advantage in Atlético’s loss. Real took a 2-point lead from their city rivals after beating Las Palmas last night.

Real’s points in 20 matches are 46, Atletico’s points in two equal matches are 44. Barca, who showed dominance at the beginning of the season, however, have fallen back a bit from the fight. Their points are 39 in 20 matches. In other words, they are 7 points behind Real. Hansi Flick’s team drew 1-1 with the last goal.

Napoli at the top is not relieved Napoli is currently at the top of the Serie A points list. Their points are 50 in 21 matches. They beat Atalanta 3-2 in the last match. But even at the top, Diego Maradono’s memorable club is not exactly comfortable. Inter Milan is breathing down its neck with 47 points after playing one match less. In this situation, if Inter wins by playing the extra match, then they will go to the top. Because, in that case, even if the points of both teams are equal, Inter is much ahead of Napoli in terms of goal difference. Napoli’s goal difference is 21 and Inter’s is 33. So, leaving aside the thought of goal difference, Napoli should try to stay on top in terms of points.

Bayern Munich is progressing well with Leverkusen holding the top spot in the Bundesliga behind Bayern. At the end of 18 matches, their points are 45. Last match won against Wolfsburg 3-2. Right behind Bayern are reigning champions Leverkusen. They are 4 points behind Bayern.

Leverkusen still has a good chance of retaining the title as the points gap is not too wide. In that case, the match against Bayern on February 15 could become very important. However, if both the teams do not give up, the title fight of this league can continue until the last day.
