Lindsay Lohan Announces New Music in Freakier Friday Sequel

Fans of Freaky Friday have some exciting news! A new sequel, called Freakier Friday, is coming next summer.

Lindsay Lohan went on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to talk about her new Netflix Christmas movie Our Little Secret. While there, she shared some news about the Freakier Friday sequel. Lohan said the band Pink Slip is back together in the movie! This is the band her character, Anna, leads with her friends Maddie (Christina Vidal) and Peg (Haley Hudson).

Along with Lohan, many other stars are returning to the movie, including Jamie Lee Curtis, Chad Michael Murray, and Mark Harmon. New actors like Manny Jacinto, Julia Butters, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan will also join the cast.

Lohan said she and Curtis were so happy to be working together again. She said, “We were smiling so big at the table read. I don’t think we were acting very well because we were so happy, but the movie is really funny!”

The movie takes place years after the first Freaky Friday. Now, Anna is a mom with her own daughter and almost-stepdaughter. The film will show the challenges of combining two families.

One new detail about the plot is that Manny Jacinto will play Anna’s husband. This means Anna and Jake (Chad Michael Murray) are not together in the sequel.

Producer Andrew Gunn explained that the movie will focus on mothers and daughters, especially when the daughter has her own child. He said creating a good story for Lohan, Curtis, and the new characters was hard, but the writer, Elyse Hollander, came up with a funny and heartwarming idea.

Jamie Lee Curtis is back as a producer for the new Freakier Friday movie, along with Kristin Burr, who worked on the original Freaky Friday. Lindsay Lohan, Nathan Kelly, and Ann Marie Sanderlin will also serve as executive producers. The film is directed by Nisha Ganatra, known for her work on Welcome to Chippendales.

Freakier Friday will be in theaters on August 8, 2025.
