The much-anticipated superhero saga Krrish 4, starring Hrithik Roshan, has once again been delayed, this time due to budget constraints. The film, which was initially set to begin production in the second half of 2025, will now be pushed to 2026, according to exclusive sources.
The movie requires an estimated budget of Rs. 700 crores, a sum that has proven difficult to secure. A source close to the development shared with Bollywood Hungama, “No studio is willing to take such a big financial risk in the post-Marvel era. The Krrish franchise has been away for over a decade, and studios are hesitant to commit such a large amount.”
Hrithik Roshan had initially assigned his friend, Siddharth Anand, to help bring a studio on board. However, with the high budget proving to be a stumbling block, the studios are now backing out. The source also revealed that Anand and his production company, Marflix, will no longer be associated with the film.
In a new development, Hrithik and his father Rakesh Roshan have decided to handle negotiations personally and speak directly with studios across India. The project will now be produced under their banner, FilmKraft, in collaboration with a leading studio.
The film’s director, Karan Malhotra, who was brought on board by Siddharth Anand, will also exit the project. A fresh team will now be recruited to rework the budget before the film begins production. Sources suggest that the film’s release could be more feasible after War 2 (starring Hrithik) hits theaters and achieves significant box office success.
As of now, Krrish 4 is slated for release in 2026, though further updates will depend on the outcome of studio negotiations.
