Kim Sae-Ron’s Leaked Video with Kim Soo-Hyun Stirs Controversy

A recently leaked video clip featuring the late Kim Sae-Ron and her alleged ex-boyfriend, actor Kim Soo-Hyun, has gone viral, reigniting a scandal that has left netizens in shock. The video, released by the Garo Sero Research Institute on March 18, 2025, shows Kim Sae-Ron with a male companion, who many believe to be Kim Soo-Hyun. The authenticity of the clip was supported by the background of the apartment, which matched Sae-Ron’s known residence from various variety shows.

The controversy surrounding Kim Sae-Ron’s relationship with Kim Soo-Hyun had previously been fueled by claims made by Sae-Ron’s aunt. According to her, the pair had a six-year-long relationship, which allegedly started in 2015 when Sae-Ron was just 15 years old and continued until 2021. The major age gap between the two – with Kim Soo-Hyun being 27 years old at the time – had sparked outrage, with Sae-Ron’s aunt accusing Soo-Hyun of grooming, harassing, and even driving the actress to the brink of suicide. The aunt also claimed that Soo-Hyun and his agency attempted to extort money from Sae-Ron.

Although many fans of the actor had defended him, the leaked video has caused public opinion to shift. The video shows Sae-Ron and the man (believed to be Soo-Hyun) watching TV, and the audio confirms the presence of BLACKPINK’s Jennie’s song “SOLO,” released in 2018. This detail has led many to deduce that the video was filmed when Sae-Ron was 19 years old, making her a minor at the time. The implication that Soo-Hyun visited her apartment when she was still underage has added fuel to the controversy.

In response to the viral video, netizens have expressed their outrage. One wrote, “Once the episode number is found out, it’s all over. I hope those defending him will stop now.” Others have criticized Soo-Hyun’s fandom for trying to protect him, calling it “disgusting,” while some are calling for a forensic analysis of the video to uncover more evidence.

As the situation continues to unfold, Sae-Ron’s family has stated that they will proceed with a forensic analysis of the evidence, which they believe will expose more details about the relationship. The ongoing backlash against Kim Soo-Hyun’s involvement in the alleged relationship has sparked intense discussions online, with many now questioning his actions during the period in question.
