Tensions have resurfaced within the INDIA Alliance as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) seeks to have the Congress expelled from the coalition. The party has already initiated discussions with other alliance partners on this matter.
The Aam Aadmi Party has made it clear that they will not ally with Congress in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Recently, Congress accused AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal of misleading the public with fake government schemes.
Reports indicate that AAP is upset over comments made by several Congress leaders, including Ajay Maken. The party has warned that if Congress does not take action against such statements, AAP will push for Congress’s expulsion from the INDIA Alliance.
AAP leaders argue that Congress should be removed from the alliance and have begun engaging with other alliance leaders to rally support for their demand.
This is not the first sign of discord within the INDIA Alliance, as tensions have been brewing for a while. Several alliance partners have previously expressed grievances, often directed against Congress.
Recently, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) also raised its voice. TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee suggested that Mamata Banerjee should be made the spokesperson of the INDIA Alliance, a proposal supported by RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav.
