Kate Winslet, who starred as Iris in the 2006 romantic comedy The Holiday, has recently addressed the possibility of a sequel. In an interview with Deadline, Winslet expressed surprise that the idea of a follow-up film has “never come up,” noting that the original movie “probably would lend itself quite well to a sequel.”
Despite ongoing fan enthusiasm and speculation, both Winslet and director Nancy Meyers have previously denied any active plans for a sequel. In December 2022, Meyers addressed rumors directly, stating, “So many DM’s about this—sorry but it’s not true.”
The Holiday has become a beloved film during the Christmas season, featuring a storyline where two women, played by Winslet and Cameron Diaz, swap homes across the Atlantic to escape personal heartaches, leading to unexpected romantic encounters with characters portrayed by Jude Law and Jack Black.
While there is no official confirmation of a sequel in development, Winslet’s recent comments have reignited discussions among fans who are hopeful to see the story continue.
