Kapil Sharma Show Accused of Insulting Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore

Bengali poet and filmmaker Shrijat has taken a stand against this perceived disrespect, demanding an apology from the show’s creators on social media. He has also called for the segment to be edited within seven days.

“The Kapil Sharma Show,” a staple of Indian television, has gained further popularity on Netflix. Shrijat has expressed his concerns over comedian Krushna Abhishek’s portrayal, which he feels crossed the lines of decency and respect. He questioned how actress Kajol, of Bengali descent, could overlook such an insult to Tagore and his legacy.

In a follow-up post, Shrijat shared that Krushna reached out to apologize, stating that his intentions were not to offend but to entertain. Shrijat welcomed this acknowledgment, emphasizing its significance.

Netizens have also shown support for Krushna’s apology, acknowledging the importance of recognizing and respecting cultural icons.
