Jon Stewart Blasts Democrats and Elon Musk Over Trump’s Inauguration

Jon Stewart didn’t hold back his criticisms during his post-Inauguration Daily Show segment, mocking the Democratic lawmakers who attended President Trump’s inauguration. While showing footage of Democrats greeting the new president with smiles, Stewart targeted their willingness to participate in the ceremony, despite their vocal opposition to Trump in the past.

He quipped, “Look at me, Ma! Oh, let’s go see Hitler and get a quick selfie first! Hello! Look at us! A quick one for the ‘Gram!’” He called out former President Obama, George Bush, and even Mike Pence for showing up, with Michelle Obama as the notable absence. “Only Michelle Obama seemed to have the consistent ethical stance of saying, ‘When they go low, I stay the f*** home,’” Stewart joked.

Stewart also took aim at Elon Musk, who had a viral moment during the inauguration, when he made an awkward gesture that sparked online debate. After playing the footage, Stewart offered a charitable explanation, saying it could have been an attempt to show empathy, adding, “You know, listen, it’s a f***ing nerve-wracking day.” However, after showing Musk repeating the gesture moments later, Stewart sarcastically suggested, “Maybe it was Elon’s attempt to ‘Dab on the Haters.’”

The segment captured Stewart’s trademark biting humor, as he humorously critiqued both political figures and public personalities for their actions at the high-profile event.
