Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires Finalize Divorce

Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires have finalized their divorce more than a year after Isbell filed for separation in December 2023. According to online records, the case was officially disposed of on March 4, 2025, bringing an end to their decade-long marriage.

Isbell, 46, filed for divorce in Tennessee, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple, who share a 9-year-old daughter, Mercy, had been facing growing tension over their work/life balance and differing levels of success, though Isbell clarified that there was no infidelity involved.

Since their split, Isbell has been dating painter Anna Weyant, 29, and they are collaborating on his latest album, Foxes in the Snow, which was released on March 7, 2025. Despite the breakup, Isbell emphasized that he is in a “good place” and that his daughter remains happy and loved.

Isbell and Shires were married in February 2013, and both musicians collaborated professionally, with Shires playing fiddle and singing backup for Isbell’s band, the 400 Unit, and Isbell performing guitar for Shires’ supergroup, The Highwomen.
