Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter Make Their Cannes Debut for ‘Homebound’ Premiere

May 21, 2025 — Bollywood stars Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter made their grand red carpet debut at the *78th Cannes Film Festival, ahead of the screening of their upcoming film, *Homebound. The duo was joined by co-star *Vishal Jethwa, director **Neeraj Ghaywan, and producer *Karan Johar, marking a significant moment for Indian cinema.

Kapoor dazzled in a *rose-colored Tarun Tahiliani ensemble, featuring a **handwoven tissue skirt and corset crafted in Benaras, evoking a regal aesthetic. Fans noted that her look paid tribute to her late mother, **Sridevi, with its elegant hood and draped silhouette. Khatter complemented her in a *maroon velvet bandhgala designed by Gaurav Gupta, exuding sophistication.

The film Homebound, directed by *Neeraj Ghaywan, tells the story of two childhood friends from a North Indian village who pursue careers as police officers, only to find their friendship tested by ambition and desperation. The film has garnered international attention, with *Martin Scorsese coming on board as the executive producer.

The Cannes premiere was a proud moment for the team, with Kapoor and Khatter receiving widespread praise for their red carpet presence. Kapoor’s sister *Khushi Kapoor, boyfriend **Shikhar Pahariya, and close friend *Orhan Awatramani were also present to support her.
