Israel’s Ongoing Assault on Gaza Claims Dozens of Palestinian Children, Talks for Ceasefire Underway

The Gaza Civil Defence Agency reports that Israeli forces killed at least 70 Palestinian children in the past five days. This comes after an Israeli airstrike on a school sheltering displaced Palestinians in northern Gaza’s Jabalia, which resulted in at least eight deaths, including children.

Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, is sending senior negotiators, including leaders of the Mossad and Shin Bet security agencies, to Qatar for talks regarding a ceasefire and a possible exchange of captives.

Israeli forces also launched further attacks on southern Lebanon, while the Lebanese army advanced in multiple regions as part of a ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah.

Since the conflict began on October 7, 2023, Israeli airstrikes have killed at least 46,565 Palestinians and wounded 109,660. The Hamas-led attacks on that day led to the deaths of 1,139 Israelis and the capture of over 200 individuals.
