Israel Poised to Strike Iran as U.S. Braces for Fallout

The Voice News : Israel is reportedly ready to launch a military operation against Iran, multiple U.S. sources told CBS News. The Biden administration (under Trump’s returned presidency) has been alerted, and the U.S. anticipates possible Iranian retaliation targeting American bases in Iraq. As a precaution, the State Department has ordered non-essential personnel to leave Iraq, and military families across the region are authorized to depart voluntarily.

President Trump commented that a strike “could very well happen,” but stopped short of confirming it as imminent. Despite ongoing nuclear negotiations, Trump has stated he will not accept any uranium enrichment by Iran, a stance Iran has rejected.

Iran’s Defense Minister warned that if conflict erupts, U.S. bases in the region will be targeted. Israeli action, without U.S. B-2 bomber support, may not be sufficient to destroy Iran’s fortified nuclear facilities. U.S. assistance, if offered, would likely include intelligence and aerial refueling — not direct involvement.

Maritime authorities have warned of heightened risks in the Persian Gulf due to rising tensions. Meanwhile, Israeli and White House officials have declined to comment on the potential military action.

The standoff deepens as Iran continues enriching uranium close to weapons-grade levels. A recent IAEA report says Iran now holds over 408 kg of uranium enriched to 60%, inching closer to the 90% needed for a nuclear bomb.

Trump has urged Netanyahu not to strike while negotiations are ongoing, but Israel’s government remains skeptical of diplomacy, citing Iran’s history of covert violations. The U.S. says it is prepared to defend Israel if Iran retaliates.
