Tensions continue to escalate between Iran and the United States over nuclear issues. US President Donald Trump has threatened direct military action if Iran fails to comply with nuclear agreements. Similar threats have also emerged from Israel.
In response, Iran has issued a stern warning. The country announced that any attack by the US or Israel would result in retaliatory strikes. Tehran emphasized that Iran harbors no hostility toward neighboring countries.
According to a Reuters report published on Monday, Iran’s Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh stated on Sunday that if either the US or Israel attacks Iran, Tehran will target their interests, military bases, and forces at any time and in any location.
This statement came amid a missile strike by Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen near Israel’s main Ben Gurion Airport. In retaliation, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also threatened a strong response.
Nasirzadeh clarified that the Houthis act independently and are not operating under Iranian orders. He reiterated that Iran does not seek conflict with neighboring states, but any aggression would make US regional bases legitimate targets for Iran.
Meanwhile, Iran unveiled a new ballistic missile named “Qasem Basir” with a range of 1,200 kilometers. This missile is capable of evading defense systems with advanced guidance and can strike specific targets without GPS.
