This military buildup comes amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, with the possibility of U.S. involvement increasing tensions.The report states that the United States has deployed nearly three dozen fuel-supply aircraft to Europe. These could be used to extend the range of fighter jets protecting American bases or bombers potentially tasked with striking Iranian nuclear sites.U.S. officials fear that if Israel formally requests White House intervention in the conflict, the region could spiral into a broader war. If the U.S. joins any assault on Iran’s critical Fordow nuclear facility, Iran-backed Houthi rebels may resume their attacks on ships in the Red Sea. Additionally, Iran-aligned militias in Iraq and Syria could attempt strikes on U.S. installations.Some officials have also warned that Iran may begin laying naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz—possibly aiming to trap U.S. warships within the Persian Gulf.The report adds that U.S. bases in the UAE, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia have been placed on high alert.
