Iran-Israel Conflict”The U.S. Is About to Do Something”: Macron

French President Emmanuel Macron has said that the United States is preparing to take some action to resolve the Iran-Israel conflict. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Canada, Macron stated that the U.S. has presented a ceasefire proposal.According to a report by The Times of Israel on Tuesday (June 17), the French President urged both Iran and Israel to halt attacks on civilians, emphasizing that the U.S. has submitted a ceasefire plan. “If the United States can achieve a ceasefire, that would be a very good development,” Macron said.He called on both Iran and Israel to stop targeting civilians. Macron also warned Israel, saying that launching an offensive to overthrow Iran’s religious regime would be a “strategic mistake.”He remarked, “Those who think they can force a country to act against its will through external attacks have always been wrong.”Macron further told journalists that a proposal for a meeting and negotiations is indeed on the table — particularly aimed at achieving a ceasefire and then initiating broader talks. “Now we must see whether the parties accept it,” he said.Meanwhile, as Macron was speaking, the White House announced that President Donald Trump would cut short his G7 summit trip due to the escalating crisis in the Middle East. Shortly afterward, Trump issued an urgent call for residents of Tehran to evacuate the city immediately. It remains unclear why President Trump made the call for Tehran’s evacuation. However, in his statement, he referenced the nuclear deal, urging Iran to sign the agreement swiftly.Trump said, “Iran should have signed the nuclear deal. I told them to sign it. It’s a shame and a loss of human life. Simply put, Iran can never be allowed to possess nuclear weapons. I’ve said it over and over again. Now, evacuate Tehran immediately.”
