Both the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which were suspended due to India-Pakistan tensions, are set to resume on Saturday.
The IPL, which was suspended on May 9 for a week, will resume with its remaining 17 matches played across six venues: Bengaluru, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad. The playoff venues will be announced later. The schedule for the final stages has already been set—Qualifier 1 on May 29, Eliminator on May 30, Qualifier 2 on June 1, and the Final on June 3.
The PSL will restart on May 17, with the final scheduled for May 25. Although the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not officially announced the updated schedule or venues, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed the restart and final dates on his X (formerly Twitter) handle.
The PSL had also been suspended on May 9 with eight matches remaining. Initially, PCB had announced that the remaining matches would be held in the UAE, but the league was suspended before further details were provided.
However, both leagues are expected to see reduced participation from foreign players. Several Australian cricketers, including Travis Head, have announced that they will not return to play in the resumed IPL season.
Bangladesh’s Rishad Hossain had participated in the PSL before the suspension.
