India’s Central Government Convenes All-Party Meeting Following Pahalgam Attack

In response to the recent deadly terrorist attack in the Baisaran Valley of Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian central government has called an all-party meeting. The meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday in New Delhi and will be chaired by Union Minister Rajnath Singh.

Prior to this, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with members of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) on Wednesday evening. Modi confirmed the meeting through a post on social media platform X.

Following the CCS meeting, Indian Foreign Secretary Biplab Mishra informed the media of several decisions taken during the session, which took place around 9 PM local time on Wednesday.

The terrorist attack occurred on Tuesday in Pahalgam, targeting tourists. A total of 26 people were killed, including 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen. Reports suggest the attackers selected victims based on their religious identity.

On the same day, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is set to meet representatives of all active political parties in the region. This meeting will be held at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre in Srinagar.
