India Successfully Performs Space Docking, Creates New History in Space

India is the fourth country in the world after the United States, Russia and China to achieve this feat.

India is gearing up to set up its own International Space Station by 2035. And to achieve that goal, the country made a new history by succeeding in the ‘Space Docking’ test.

India is the fourth country in the world after the United States, Russia and China to achieve this feat. Space docking method is the process of bringing two small spacecraft or different artificial satellites to the same point.

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on Thursday announced the merger of SpedEx 1 (Chaser) and SpedEx 2 (Target) in this very complex process of space research.

This paves the way for India to build an international station in space.

On December 30, ISRO launched the PSLV-C60 rocket from the ‘launching pad’ of the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.

Spadex 1 and 2 were sent as the main payload of that rocket. In addition, 24 secondary payloads were also sent.
Scientists said that Spacedesk 1 and 2 will be assembled at the same point in space latitude 470 km above Earth. They did that on Thursday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was at ISRO’s office in Bangalore when the scientists conducted this space docking test.
“Congratulations to ISRO scientists and everyone involved in the successful demonstration of the satellite’s space docking. In the coming years, India will launch more missions in space. Space docking is an important step for our space missions. ” He wrote in a post in X.

ISRO has been trying for a long time with space docking-missions. But due to some problem or the other, it was being delayed again and again. Success finally came.

ISRO wrote, “Spacecraft docking has been successfully completed! This is a historic moment. ”
