India Poised to Become World’s Growth Engine, Says PM Modi at ‘Hala Modi’ Event in Kuwait


KUWAIT CITY – Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the first Indian leader to visit Kuwait in 43 years, addressed the “Hala Modi” event on Saturday, emphasizing India’s significant achievements in various fields and calling for enhanced cooperation between the two nations. He declared that India is set to become the world’s growth engine, highlighting the country’s impressive economic growth.

During his speech to the Indian community in Kuwait, PM Modi highlighted India’s advancements in space exploration, the startup ecosystem, fintech, and technology. He expressed pride in the contributions of the Indian diaspora, referring to them as a “mini India” residing in the Gulf nation.

In his opening remarks, PM Modi stated, “After 43 years, more than four decades, a PM of India has come to Kuwait. For you all, coming to India takes four hours, but for the PM, it took four decades.” This visit marks a significant milestone in strengthening bilateral relations between India and Kuwait.

PM Modi’s address underscored the importance of collaboration in various sectors, including space technology and innovation. He praised India’s achievements in launching successful space missions and fostering a vibrant startup ecosystem that has gained global recognition.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the role of fintech and technology in driving economic growth and development. He emphasized the need for continued cooperation between India and Kuwait to harness the potential of these sectors for mutual benefit.

India’s economy has been growing at a remarkable pace, making it one of the fastest-growing major economies in the world. The country’s GDP growth rate has consistently outpaced global averages, driven by robust domestic consumption, a burgeoning middle class, and significant investments in infrastructure and technology.

The “Hala Modi” event served as a platform for PM Modi to connect with the Indian community in Kuwait and reaffirm India’s commitment to fostering strong ties with the Gulf nation. The visit is expected to pave the way for increased collaboration and partnership in various fields, further solidifying the bond between the two countries.
