Indian Home Minister Amit Shah has announced that illegal Bangladeshi and Rohingya immigrants residing in New Delhi and its surrounding areas will be deported soon. He has also instructed the Delhi Police to take necessary action in this regard.
During a meeting with senior officials of the Delhi Police on Friday, Shah inquired about the presence of illegal immigrants in different parts of the capital. According to a police official quoted by NDTV, authorities are already conducting inspections in various colonies where Bangladeshis and Rohingyas reside. Efforts are underway to identify those living with fake documents or without any documentation.
Amit Shah emphasized that illegal immigrants and infiltrators pose a direct threat to national security. He instructed officials to take strict action, ensuring their swift identification and deportation. Additionally, he ordered legal action against those who assist or shelter undocumented Bangladeshis and Rohingyas in Delhi.
The Home Minister stressed that this issue is part of a larger network and directed authorities to dismantle it at any cost. He urged police officials to intensify operations and take stringent measures against offenders.
