In the video, a man is seen sitting on a sofa in a heavily damaged and debris-filled house. As the drone moves closer, the man throws an object toward it. The IDF asserts that this individual is Yahya Sinwar, the senior Hamas figure. However, the authenticity of the video has not yet been independently verified.

Israel has officially confirmed that Sinwar was killed in an airstrike in southern Gaza. The military made the announcement on Thursday, October 17. Meanwhile, Hamas has not yet issued a formal statement regarding the claim.

Sinwar, who had been serving as the leader of Hamas’ political bureau in Gaza, was appointed to the role following the death of Ismail Haniyeh in July during a visit to Iran.
