UN Human Rights Council Advisory Committee to Address Key Global Issues in 32nd Session
GENEVA – The Human Rights Council Advisory Committee will convene its 32nd session from December 16 to 20, 2024, at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. Rescheduled from August, the session will take place in Room XX and will explore the intersection of emerging global challenges and human rights.
The Advisory Committee, often referred to as the UN Human Rights Council’s “think tank,” comprises experts tasked with examining critical issues and providing insights to the Council. Key topics on the agenda include:
•The use of technology in the military domain
•Disinformation and its societal impacts
•Technology-facilitated gender-based violence
•Plastic pollution and its threat to human rights
•The ethical and societal implications of artificial intelligence
Participants must seek accreditation online via the Advisory Committee Secretariat at least three working days before the session.
