How Real Madrid is a small team in a big match

Real Madrid ended last season with a great win in La Liga and the Champions League. Due to the arrival of Kylian Mbappe, Real was considered one of the favorites this season. But compared to last season, Real’s performance this season is quite simple. The addition of Mbappe could not make any special changes to the team’s performance.

On the contrary, Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham, who showed great performance last season, have also become quite lackluster. In the meantime, Real lost the Spanish Super Cup title to Barcelona by 5-2 goals. Overall, Real’s performance this season is not satisfactory at all. Rather, Real’s performance against relatively equal strength teams is quite miserable .

Let’s start with the performance against Barcelona. In La Liga, Real Madrid crashed 4-0 at the home ground Santiago Bernabeu. In that match, Barca was great in attack as well as stopping Real in highline defensive tactics. Then in the final of the Spanish Super Cup, Barcelona turned the stick on Real. In Jeddah, they blew Real 5-2 goals in a great performance. That is, only Barcelona has digested 9 goals in two matches.
Real Madrid could not win against Atletico Madrid, who are now at the top of La Liga. Carlo Ancelotti’s team somehow drew in the first leg match. Although not as big as Barcelona or Atletico, Athletic Bilbao is showing great performance this season. At the moment, Bilbao is at number four in the points table with 36 points in 19 matches. Madrid’s club could not return with a win from the Bilbao field.
In all, Real have played six matches against Barcelona, Atletico, Bilbao, Liverpool and AC Milan. Five of which have seen the face of defeat, the other match has been drawn. In the last half of the season, this statistic is enough to create panic for Real. In the coming days, Real will have to play in some big matches. The matches that can make the fate of Real. Now it is waiting to see if Real can return to the best rhythm before those important matches.
