Have you seen the 7-goal El Clasico final before

There are at least two El Clasico every year. That’s in La Liga. With the addition of the Copa del Rey, the Spanish Super Cup, it increases further. In the last 123 years, Real Madrid and Barcelona have faced a total of 259 times in the official match. With so many encounters so many times, the Real-Barca match is supposed to be a lot of times.

But those who think so are not entirely correct. Rather, there is a fierce competition, so goals are rarely scored in the face of Real Madrid and Barcelona. Last night’s Spanish Super Cup final (5-2) was one of the few matches that have seen one goal after another. And if only the title match is taken into consideration, then this is the first time that the 7-goal El Clasico final has been seen.

In the Real Madrid-Barcelona face-off, the highest goal in a match has been 12. Twice too. The first time was in 1916, in the field of Real. The second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final ended in a 6-6 draw. The second leg of the 1943 semi-final in the same tournament was also a 12-goal match.

Real Madrid had 11 goals in that match at Santiago Bernabeu. Barca could only repay 1 in the crashing match. It is also the biggest margin of victory in El Clasico so far.

Like 12 goals, there are two 10-goal El Clasico. One in 1935, Real won 8–2. Another in 1943, a 5–5 draw. Both matches were La Liga.

Of course, at the end of the day, the smile is Barcelona. Before this year, Real has digested 5 goals in a final only twice. The first time was in the 1962 European Cup (now the Champions League) to Eusebi, the second time to Sevilla in the 2007 Spanish Super Cup. For the third time, 5 goals were digested by the arch-rival Barcelona.
