France Provides Military Intelligence to Ukraine Despite U.S. Withdrawal

The United States recently halted all intelligence sharing with Ukraine, raising concerns about potential challenges for Ukraine in its ongoing war against Russia. However, France has stepped in to support Ukraine by providing military intelligence.

On Thursday, French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu confirmed that France is sharing intelligence information with Ukraine, according to a report by Voice of America. This move comes after the U.S. ceased intelligence exchanges with Ukraine.

In a related development, European Union leaders gathered in Brussels on Thursday to discuss strengthening defense systems and increasing support for Ukraine amid Russian aggression. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was also present at the summit.

Before the meeting, French President Emmanuel Macron stated that EU members would take decisive steps in the coming days. He also expressed concern over the shift in U.S. policy under President Donald Trump, who recently halted military aid to Ukraine following a heated exchange with Zelensky at the White House.

CIA Director John Ratcliffe later confirmed that the U.S. had stopped sharing intelligence with Kyiv.

Since the war began in 2022, the U.S. had been a significant provider of intelligence to Ukraine, offering crucial information to target Russian military forces.
