Employee Files Lawsuit Against Nicki Minaj for Assault

Grammy-nominated rapper Nicki Minaj is facing a lawsuit from her former employee, Brandon Garrett, who has accused the artist of physical and mental abuse. The lawsuit, which was filed on Friday in the Los Angeles Superior Court, claims that Minaj physically assaulted Garrett and subjected him to psychological torment.

According to Garrett’s allegations, Minaj assaulted him multiple times, even striking him in the face during one of the incidents.

The lawsuit details that the alleged attack occurred on April 21, 2023, during a concert tour. On that day, Garrett claims Minaj became angry with him in front of several people, shouting at him and threatening him. She reportedly said, “If my husband were here, he would break your teeth,” before physically hitting him.

In the lawsuit, Garrett states that Minaj slapped him across the face with her hand, causing his head to jerk back and his hat to fall off. He also claims that she struck him on his right wrist during the altercation.

After the incident, Garrett was reportedly prevented from boarding the bus to the next tour destination in Chicago. He later went to the police for protection, first reporting the incident to Detroit police and then filing a report with the Chicago police.

Nicki Minaj’s attorney, Judd Bernstein, has denied the allegations, calling the lawsuit “entirely false and unfounded.” He stated, “Since no official notice of the lawsuit has yet been delivered to Minaj, we are unable to provide further details. However, if the claims are found to be true, we are confident that the matter will be resolved in Minaj’s favor swiftly.”

In the lawsuit, Garrett is seeking both compensatory and punitive damages.

As of now, there has been no official comment from Nicki Minaj on the matter, which remains under judicial review.
