Dhaka, April 3, 2025: The Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) has strongly condemned the filing of another murder case against journalists, terming it an attempt to suppress press freedom. In a statement issued today, DUJ leaders expressed outrage over the recent case filed against six journalists in Bogura, including allegations against journalist Sheikh Hasibul of the Daily Swadhin Bangla.
DUJ President and General Secretary stated that such legal actions are being strategically used to intimidate journalists and hinder free reporting. The organization demanded an immediate withdrawal of the case and called for ensuring a safe working environment for journalists in Bangladesh.
