Drone Targets Russian Embassy in Stockholm, Drops Paint on Compound

STOCKHOLM – A drone dropped paint on the Russian embassy grounds in Stockholm early Friday, Swedish police reported. The unidentified drone flew over the compound before releasing the substance. No suspects have been identified, and no arrests have been made.

Police are investigating whether the incident is connected to a reported act of vandalism at Sweden’s embassy in Moscow a day earlier.

The Russian embassy and foreign ministry have not responded to requests for comment on the matter.

Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard, addressing the Moscow vandalism, urged Russia to ensure the safety of Sweden’s diplomatic mission and staff. However, she did not comment on the drone incident in Stockholm.

A Swedish foreign ministry spokesperson confirmed that Sweden’s embassy in Moscow is engaging with Russian authorities regarding Thursday’s events.
