Djokovic Withdrew From The Semi-Finals At The End Of The First Set

Novak Djokovic faces Alexander Zverev in the men’s singles semi-finals at the Australian Open today. Djokovic lost the first set 7–6 (7/5) in a hard-fought 1 hour and 21 minutes. The 24-time Grand Slam-winning Serbian legend suffered from a left leg problem during the first set. Surprisingly, Djokovic withdrew from the match after losing the first set. In this, the German star Zverev reached the final of the Australian Open.

Djokovic shook his hand to the audience while leaving the court at Rod Lever Arena. But the audience gave him both. In response, Zokovic raised his finger with two hands. When Djokovic was in court before the incident, Joverev, who was moving to the court, did not believe that the German star’s eyes were understood. However, Javev has shown respect to the legend. For the first time in the final of the Australian Open, he did not forget to honor Djokovic standing in court.

Zverev didn’t like giving Djokovic a double to the audience, ‘The first thing I want to say is, please don’t give a double to a player if he withdraws due to injury. I know, everyone has spent money to buy tickets and everyone wants to see a great five-set match. But you also have to understand that for 20 years, Novak Djokovic has dominated tennis. He won the tournament with a groin injury, a hamstring injury. His not being able to continue playing in this match means that it is really impossible.

After moving away, Djokovic said, ‘At the end of the first set, the pain was increasing steadily. At the moment I am not in the face (like playing) in the situation. I knew that even if he won the first set, two, three or four hours would have to be struggling with him, which is not inside me today. ‘

In the quarterfinals, the left foot injury was 5 -year -old Djokovic. He returned to court with a medical time out in the middle of the first set. Today, in the semifinals, his left leg was well injured in injury tape. But after the first set rate, Djokovic sat down. Then he proceeded to the net and joined hands with Javev. The matter becomes clear then. Djokovic, who set foot in Australia, extended itself to win the record 20th Grand Slam.

Djokovic won the last Grand Slam at the US Open in 2021. Then the seven Grand Slam returned empty handed. The legend is also increasing the record of the highest Grand Slam winning of the Margaret Court’s 25th Grand Slam Joy. Today, Djokovic lost the opportunity to achieve another rate – Karier’s 5th title. Only Roger Federer (42) has seen this milestone with tennis of boys and girls.

Zverev’s opponent in the men’s final at the Australian Open on Sunday has yet to be decided. Zverev will face the winner of Yannick Sinner and Ben Shelton in the other men’s semi-final.

Such farewells of Djokovic are not only sad for his supporters, but also doubt. He is the undisputed ‘king’ of the Australian Open – the highest 4 -time champion. But from the beginning, he was suffering from fitness. In the quarterfinals, Carlos Alkaraj also suffered a fitness problem in four sets. Meanwhile, it is 5 years old. It is doubtful whether the problem of fitness will be seen in the Australian Open again.
