Djokovic breaks Federer’s another record in third round

No one in tennis history has more Grand Slam singles titles than Novak Djokovic. The 24-time Grand Slam champion has set another record on the court at the Australian Open today. Playing the 430th singles match of his Grand Slam career, the Serbian star took away another record of Roger Federer.

Djokovic defeated Jaime Faria of Portugal 6-1, 6-7 (4/7), 6-3, 6-2 on the Rod Laver Arena to reach the third round of the Australian Open. Djokovic’s potential opponent in the quarter-finals Carlos Alcaraz also reached the third round. The future of tennis won 6-0, 6-1, 6-4 by crushing Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka.

In the number of matches in the Grand Slam, Faria won the first set easily, but won the second set with a great game. However, the Portuguese player did not get the next two sets and 37-year-old Djokovic.
After reaching the third round of the Australian Open for the 17th time in a row, Djokovic talked about the record. The record 10-time Australian Open champion described himself as lucky, “I love this game, I love the competition. Whenever I play, I try to give my best. It’s been more than 20 years since I played in a Grand Slam. Win or lose, I play with my heart out on the court. I feel lucky to have made another record.
