Daniel Craig Joins DC Comics Movie

Daniel Craig is set to star in Sgt. Rock, a new DC Comics movie, with director Luca Guadagnino. The film, based on the iconic comic book character, is being developed under DC Studios, with James Gunn and Peter Safran leading the new direction for the studio.

While plot details are not yet revealed, Sgt. Rock will likely focus on the action-packed story of a World War II hero known for his combat skills. This marks another big project for both Craig and Guadagnino, who previously worked together on the indie film Queer.

The film is expected to start production in the next couple of years, though deals have not been finalized. Justin Kuritzkes, who wrote Challengers and Queer, penned the script.

Luca Guadagnino is known for films like Call Me By Your Name, Suspiria, and A Bigger Splash, which have mainly been in the arthouse genre. Craig, famous for his portrayal of James Bond in the James Bond franchise, will soon reprise his role as Benoit Blanc in A Knives Out Mystery sequel.

There have been past attempts to adapt Sgt. Rock for the big screen, with stars like Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger attached to previous versions that never came to fruition. Now, under new leadership, this project has a chance to make it to theaters.

The movie’s release date and further details are still to be confirmed.
