Continuous Israeli Attacks Across Gaza, 5 Children Among the Victims

Israeli attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip have claimed the lives of 49 more Palestinians, bringing the total death toll in the region to approximately 45,900.

Additionally, since the assaults began in October 2023, over a hundred thousand Palestinians have been injured. This information was reported by Al Jazeera on Wednesday (January 8).

The news outlet stated that on Tuesday, at least 49 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza, including five children in the so-called “safe zone” of Al-Mawasir and eight people in Jabalia.

Al Jazeera added that Israeli forces have intensified their assaults across the Gaza Strip, including in Al-Mawasir’s “humanitarian zones,” causing significant destruction to residential homes and civilian infrastructure.

Meanwhile, attacks on relief vehicles and systematic looting of aid trucks, including fuel tanks, by Palestinian gangs have exacerbated the humanitarian crisis. These criminal groups appear to receive some form of protection from Israeli military forces.

The European Hospital in Gaza has warned that its fuel reserves will run out within the next 24 hours, and Al-Aqsa Hospital has also stated that it will be forced to shut down power due to fuel shortages.

As of Tuesday, the besieged territory’s health ministry reported that the total death toll in Gaza since October 2023 has risen to 45,885. The ministry’s statement also noted that at least 109,196 people have been injured in these relentless assaults.

Palestinian health authorities believe that over 10,000 people are still missing under the rubble of destroyed homes across the Gaza Strip. Despite the UN Security Council’s call for an immediate ceasefire, Israel continues its brutal attacks on the besieged territory.

It is worth noting that since Hamas’s unprecedented cross-border attack on October 7, Israel has been carrying out continuous air and ground assaults in the Gaza Strip. These attacks have damaged or destroyed thousands of buildings, including hospitals, schools, refugee camps, mosques, and churches.

Over 2 million residents have been forced to leave their homes due to Israeli aggression.

Israel’s assaults have turned Gaza into rubble. According to the United Nations, around 85% of Palestinians in Gaza have been displaced due to Israel’s brutal attacks. Amid a severe shortage of food, clean water, and medicine, the entire population of Gaza now faces acute food insecurity.

Additionally, 60% of Gaza’s infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed. Israel has already been accused of genocide in the International Court of Justice.
