Chris Hemsworth Admits He Was Intimidated by Halle Berry

Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth has opened up about feeling “intimidated” working alongside Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry in their upcoming thriller Crime 101.

Speaking at Amazon MGM Studios’ presentation during CinemaCon 2025 in Las Vegas, Hemsworth, 41, shared that he had long admired Berry’s work and found it daunting to perform with her in scenes. “I was obviously very intimidated to sit opposite her within a scene and try and, you know, not just be in awe of what she was doing,” Hemsworth told E! News during a joint red carpet interview with Berry.

Despite his initial nerves, the Thor actor said Berry quickly put him at ease, praising her ability to create a comfortable and collaborative environment on set. “Certain people just bring out not just the best in you, but also a comfort level where it feels like it’s a place to explore… That was the experience with Berry,” he said.

Berry, 58, echoed the sentiment, calling Hemsworth “a stand-up guy” and revealing that he stood up for her during filming. “He didn’t have to do it, and he did it,” she said, adding that she’s now a lifelong fan of his.

In Crime 101, adapted from Don Winslow’s novella, Hemsworth plays a master jewel thief named Davis, while Berry portrays a weary insurance broker entangled in the heist. Mark Ruffalo also stars as an LAPD detective tracking the criminal duo.

Last month, Hemsworth also made headlines after jokingly regretting asking singer Billie Eilish for a selfie at the Oscars, calling the moment “awkward” but worth it for his kids.
