Centre’s High-Level Panel to Submit Report on Ahmedabad Air India Crash Within Three Months: Minister

Pune, June 17, 2025 — The high-level, multi-disciplinary committee constituted by the Indian government to probe the recent Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad is expected to submit its findings within three months, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol announced on Tuesday.Speaking to reporters in Pune, Minister Mohol assured the public that the investigation will be thorough and impartial, involving experts from multiple domains including aviation safety, engineering, air traffic control, and meteorology.“The committee has already begun its work. They are analyzing flight data, cockpit voice recordings, and structural evidence from the crash site,” said Mohol.The crash, which occurred last week near Ahmedabad airport, claimed the lives of 204 passengers and left dozens injured, marking one of the deadliest aviation disasters in recent Indian history. Authorities had temporarily suspended operations at the airport and declared a national day of mourning.The government’s rapid response included immediate compensation to victims’ families and deployment of technical teams to secure and examine the wreckage.Mohol emphasized that safety protocols, maintenance records, and pilot performance data will all be evaluated. He also mentioned that recommendations arising from the committee’s report will be made public and implemented without delay.“This government is committed to ensuring the highest standards of air safety,” the minister stated.The final report is expected by mid-September 2025, after which further action will be taken based on the findings.
