Ceasefire Violated as Drone Attack in Gaza Kills Three Police Officers

Breaking the ceasefire agreement, Israel has once again carried out a drone attack in Gaza, killing three Hamas police officers. The attack was conducted by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Sunday morning (February 16).

The Israeli forces claimed that the armed police officers were approaching their soldiers. However, Gaza-based media reported that the slain police officers were responsible for overseeing the entry of relief trucks at the Rafah border near Egypt.

The Interior Ministry of Hamas-controlled Gaza condemned the killings and urged mediating countries to ensure that Israel refrains from attacking police officers, as they are part of the civilian administration.

Later in the day, Palestinian media reported another drone attack. According to reports, Israeli forces targeted a vehicle. The IDF later issued a statement claiming that the vehicle was traveling on an unauthorized road towards northern Gaza. However, it remains unclear whether there were any casualties in the attack.

For travel to northern Gaza, Israeli forces have designated Salah al-Din Road as the approved route. A private agency is conducting searches on all vehicles passing through this road.
