Captain America 4 to Be One of MCU’s Shortest Films

The upcoming Captain America: Brave New World movie, starring Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson in his solo debut as the iconic hero, has officially confirmed its runtime. Clocking in at just 118 minutes, Brave New World will be one of the shortest films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), only surpassing Captain America: The First Avenger, which ran for 124 minutes. It also ranks as the seventh-shortest MCU movie overall.

The movie picks up with Sam Wilson navigating a global crisis in the aftermath of the election of Thaddeus Ross (played by Harrison Ford) as the new US president. Alongside Mackie, familiar faces such as Carl Lumbly (Isaiah Bradley), Danny Ramirez (Joaquin Torres), and Liv Tyler (Betty Ross) will return, while new additions to the cast include Shira Haas as Sabra, Giancarlo Esposito, Seth Rollins, and Xosha Roquemore.

Although initially set for release last summer, Captain America: Brave New World is now slated to hit theaters on February 14, 2025.

In related news, Mackie recently clarified his earlier comments about Captain America and the representation of America in the role. Speaking at a Disney event, he emphasized that Captain America embodies values such as honor, dignity, and integrity, rather than being solely a symbol of America. Mackie later took to Instagram to reinforce his respect for the country and its veterans, explaining that his portrayal of the hero reflects universal qualities that resonate with people worldwide.

Captain America: Brave New World is shaping up to be an exciting addition to the MCU, with a blend of returning favorites and fresh faces, all set to deliver an action-packed, heartfelt film experience.
