Bilawal Attends Trump’s Breakfast Event

Bilawal Attends Trump’s Breakfast Event
Pakistan’s former foreign minister and chairman of the country’s second-largest party, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, attended the ‘National Prayer Ceremony’—a breakfast event hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump in honor of prominent political, diplomatic, business, and cultural figures from around the world.

The event began at 7 AM local time on Thursday at the White House in Washington, D.C., and lasted until 2 PM.

Meanwhile, while Bilawal was in Washington, his father and Pakistan’s President, Asif Ali Zardari, was in Beijing. On Thursday, he met with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People. In response to a journalist’s question after the meeting, Zardari stated, “China is our first ally, then come the others.”

U.S. presidents traditionally host breakfast and dinner events in honor of global dignitaries within the first 100 days of their tenure. This week, President Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance organized several such events. However, this was the first time Bilawal received an invitation from Trump.

Earlier, on January 24, Bilawal had told journalists at an event in Karachi that he had received an invitation to Trump’s National Prayer Breakfast and would attend.

Bilawal also clarified that this invitation had no connection to the Pakistani government and that he would cover all his travel expenses to Washington personally.
