Big Winners at the 2024 International Emmy Awards

The 2024 International Emmy Awards took place in New York on Monday night. The best TV shows from around the world were honoured, with winners chosen from 21 countries.

The top winners were:

Drops of God won Best Drama Series.

Timothy Spall won Best Actor.

Aokbab-Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying won Best Actress.

División Palermo won Best Comedy.

Liebes Kind won Best Mini-Series.

In the Best Drama category, Drops of God, a show on Apple TV+, won against other shows from Australia, Argentina, and India.

Timothy Spall won Best Actor for his role in the BBC drama The Sixth Commandment. He beat actors from Brazil, France, and Turkey.

Aokbab-Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying won Best Actress for her role in the Thai drama Hunger, which is on Netflix. Other nominees were from the UK, France, and Mexico.

In Best Comedy, División Palermo from Argentina won. This show is about a group of people from different social groups who protect their neighbourhood. It beat shows from Australia, South Korea, and France.

Indian comedian Vir Das, who won an Emmy in 2023, hosted the event.

Other famous people at the awards included actor Omar Sy and producer Michael Pressman.
