Barcelona have dropped points in seven of their last eight matches in the league

After strong performances in the Spanish Super Cup and Copa del Rey in the new year, Barcelona once again lost their rhythm back in La Liga. Despite an early lead against bottom-of-the-table Getafe, they couldn’t hold on to the lead. Points lost in another match. Barcelona drew 1-1 at home on Saturday night in their first league match of the year. Mauro Arambari equalized in the first half after Zul Kunde put the visitors ahead. Hansi Flick’s side have dropped points in seven of their last eight matches in the league; Where they lost four, drew three and won one.

In this year’s Copa del Rey, Barcelona reached the quarter-finals by winning 4-0 and 5-1 goals in two matches. In between, they beat Athletic Bilbao 2-0 in the semi-finals of the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia and beat Real Madrid 5-2 in the final to win their first title of the season. Barcelona went ahead with the first significant opportunity in the ninth minute. Kunde’s first attempt at Pedri’s pass into the box was blocked by the goalkeeper, but the French defender cleared the ball and sent it into the net. Dominating the attack, Barcelona had another good chance in the fifteenth minute. Alejandro Balder’s shot was not on target in this journey. In the 33rd minute, Rafinha headed the ball into the side netting at the far post from Lamine Yamal’s cross.
