”Bangladesh won the War of Liberation under the courageous leadership of Indira Gandhi”

All India Congress General Secretary and Lok Sabha member Priyanka Gandhi said that Bangladesh won the Liberation War under the courageous leadership of Indira Gandhi.

He made the claim in a speech in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament, on Monday (December 16).

Priyanka Gandhi, a first-time member of Parliament, on Monday spoke about the current situation in Bangladesh and the role that the Indian government has to play on the occasion of Victory Day.

Priyanka Gandhi, a Lok Sabha member from Wayanad in Kerala, said, “I salute the brave soldiers whose indomitable struggle led to the victory. I salute the great Indian people who supported the army and leadership of the country to liberate Bangladesh at that time. During the War of Liberation, the courageous leadership and role of the then Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi led Bangladesh to victory.

Praising former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, her granddaughter Priyanka recalled that when the West Pakistan army was brutally torturing the then East Pakistan, the rest of the world played the role of spectators, but the then Indian government (led by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi) jumped in to save Bangladesh. “He showed courage and such leadership in very difficult circumstances; Which makes the country victorious. ”

Addressing the Lok Sabha, he accused the government of removing a painting depicting the surrender of the Pakistani army in 1971 at the Indian Army headquarters in New Delhi.

“Secondly, a painting of Pakistani soldiers surrendering to the Indian Army has been removed from the Army headquarters today.

Earlier, the Indian Army had clarified that Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi had installed the iconic 1971 Surrender Painting at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi.

The iconic painting depicts the formal surrender of Indian Pakistani troops in Dhaka on December 16, 1971 after the independence of Bangladesh. The painting has been installed by the Indian Army at the Manekshaw Centre on the occasion of Vijay Diwas.
