Bangladesh: Hell For Journalists by Md Yunus Regime

After crossing the maximum limit of killing, disappearance, rape and harassment in Bangladesh, the killing, torture and horrific oppression on journalists have crossed all limits of history. Bangladesh has now become a poisonous meeting hell for journalism and free thought. In addition to killings, abductions, beatings, journalists are being sacked and made homeless and country-flee.

The country has not been subjected to such barbaric torture, murder, disappearance and hellish torture since the country gained independence in 1971.

Popular News agency The Voice has accumulated statistics of the killings, torture and heinous oppression of journalists after the conspiracy to oust Sheikh Hasina from power on August 5. The Voice believes these figures to be more authentic and more comprehensive.

On August 5 last year, Sheikh Hasina was ousted in the name of the so-called student movement, which was completely conspiratorial and later the blueprint of that conspiracy was published one by one. Basically, the fundamentalist group implemented this blueprint with the intention of killing Sheikh Hasina. Sheikh Hasina was ousted from power and survived by taking shelter in India. Then came the face of fundamentalists in Bangladesh. One by one, they started destroying all the symbols of sovereignty of Bangladesh. The Voice is expressing them one by one. Bangladesh is now a clear death. The killing, disappearance, dismissal and beating of journalists is a common occurrence in Bangladesh. In a word, Bangladesh is now hostage in the hands of some terrorists and militants.

Let’s take a look at the terrible situation going on with journalists in Bangladesh….
After August 5, 2024,
• 6 journalists have been killed
• More than 600 false cases have been filed in the name of different journalists
• 96 journalists have been accused in fabricated cases and 18 senior journalists have been imprisoned.
• More than 1,000 journalists have been forcibly fired.
• The press accreditation cards of 168 journalists have been revoked.
• The posts of 83 senior journalists of the press club have been canceled.
• Media and press houses over 50 have been attacked.
• More than 100 journalists are spending their days in severe injuries.
• Bank accounts of 96 journalists have been forcibly summoned.
• Bank accounts of 18 senior journalists have been frozen.
• Even more alarming, most of the media houses have been forced to work for them and stop publishing all true news and only this militant news, which is clearly the ultimate form of intense fascism.

The worst face of an unwritten fascism is now seen in Bangladesh. Free journalism has been killed along with the killings of people of all classes. In this valley of death, journalists are now caught in the unjust journey of a vicious fascism without a tragic, sick, democracy.
