”Awami League’ is not interested in sitting with the interim government”

The organizing secretary Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel, said that ‘Awami League’ is not interested in sitting with the interim government.

Bangladesh Awami League is planning to start a movement soon against the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus. Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel, the party’s organizing secretary, told Voice of America on Friday (October 25).

He said, ‘This (interim) government is completely unconstitutional. If we protest against them, protest across the country, then this (interim) government will not last.’

Nadel also told Voice of America by telephone that work is being done to bring the party’s leaders together. They are contacting other like-minded political forces to start protests against the interim government.
When asked how soon his party is planning to take to the streets, this Awami League leader said, “After two weeks or a month, we can take to the movement.”

Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel is a Bangladeshi politician and sports organizer. He was the Member of Parliament for Moulvibazar-2 seat. He is the Organizing Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League. He is also a director of Bangladesh Cricket Board.
