Assam Police Claims Arrest of Bangladeshi Militant

The Special Task Force (STF) of the Assam Police has claimed to have arrested a Bangladeshi militant named Nasimuddin Sheikh from Kokrajhar in the Indian state of Assam.

According to Assam Police, Nasimuddin is an active member of the banned militant organization Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT). Additionally, he is also linked to Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen.

Acting on a tip-off, the STF conducted an operation in an area of Kokrajhar on Monday, during which Nasimuddin was apprehended.

The police stated that Nasimuddin was a close associate of Nur Islam Mandal, who had been arrested earlier. His name is linked to militant activities in Kokrajhar.

The police claim that Nasimuddin was involved in making powerful Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) along with Nur Islam Mandal. Assam Police has stated that legal action is being taken against him.
