ABC News Suspends Journalist Over Controversial Comments About Trump and Adviser

The Voice News: ABC News has suspended senior national correspondent Terry Moran following a controversial social media post in which he described former President Donald Trump and White House adviser Stephen Miller as “world-class haters.”

The post, which has since been deleted, claimed Miller was “richly endowed with the capacity for hatred” and said his ability to translate the Trump movement’s impulses into policy came not from intelligence but from “bile.” Moran also suggested Miller “eats his hate,” while labeling Trump’s hatred as a means of self-glorification.

ABC News responded by suspending Moran pending further evaluation, stating:
“ABC News stands for objectivity and impartiality in its news coverage and does not condone subjective personal attacks. The post does not reflect the views of ABC News and violated our standards.”

Stephen Miller reacted strongly, accusing mainstream media of bias. “The most important fact about Terry’s full public meltdown is what it shows about the corporate press in America,” Miller said on social media. “Terry pulled off his mask.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt criticized Moran’s remarks as “unacceptable and unhinged,” saying they further erode public trust in traditional media. Vice President JD Vance also weighed in, calling the post a “vile smear.”

This incident follows ABC News’ recent $15 million settlement with a Trump foundation after a defamation case involving anchor George Stephanopoulos, who had incorrectly stated that Trump had been found “liable for rape” in the E. Jean Carroll lawsuit.

The controversy is likely to reinforce perceptions among conservatives that mainstream media outlets maintain an inherent bias against the Trump administration and its allies.

ABC reiterated its commitment to neutrality, stating:
“ABC News stands for objectivity and impartiality in its news coverage and does not condone subjective personal attacks on others.”
